The King was born in Greece, had Greek parents, was raised in Greece, attended the three military academies and had a Greek passport until 1994. He won the first Olympic Gold Medal for Greece in 50 years. Four generations of his family had served Greece, fought in all the wars, and during their reign, Greece doubled in size.
