The IOC annual meeting and the 13th Congress session, took place in Copenhagen, between October 2nd-9th .

The focal issue on the first day of deliberations, was to elect the host city for the 2016 Olympic Games. Global attention was even greater this year, as President Obama and the First Lady of the United States were present to support Chicago's nomination (pictures below).

Rio de Janeiro, a city which has fought and prepared for the priviledge for decades, was finally named Host City 2016.
